Mehmet ÇAVAŞ, a prominent figure in Karaman's economy, was born on August 1, 1946, in Kurtderesi Village, Karaman Center. He is married to Mrs. Firdevs and has children named Ekrem, Mehmet Ali, Abdullah, Havva, and Fatma. Known for his hardworking, humble, and resilient character, he earned respect and love from those around him. He had a sustainable success-oriented approach in business and economics.
He is the founder of ÇAVPET Petroleum Products, ÇAVAŞ Feed and Flour Factories, ÇAVSA Cold Storage and Packaging, and ONURLU Cold Storage companies—business groups that help many families earn their livelihood today. These companies continue their commercial activities under the management of Mehmet ÇAVAŞ’s sons, playing a leading role especially in Karaman’s sector, contributing significantly to the region's economy.
Our philanthropist Mehmet ÇAVAŞ, who wanted to extend his outstanding contributions in business and economy to the education field, built a modern school worthy of our country, nation, and Karaman under the protocol made with Karaman Governorship with the philosophy "One School, One Thousand Futures," and donated it to the Ministry of National Education to help future generations grow better.

The Hüseyin Mehmet Çavaş Quran Course, constructed through the collaboration of Karaman businessmen led by Hüseyin Mehmet Çavaş, local philanthropists, the Turkey Religious Foundation Karaman Branch, and the Karaman Provincial Mufti’s Office, was inaugurated after a formal ceremony.
The five-story Quran Course, with a capacity for 82 students, includes five classrooms, a prayer room, library, administration and teachers’ rooms, guesthouse, IT center, multipurpose hall, and 18 suite rooms accommodating four people each.
The mosque located in the Dikparmak area, built by Mehmet Çavaş with a philanthropic spirit, serves the worship needs of the local community.
